Flowers
Dandelions
Dandelions will appear randomly throughout most of the year. If left alone, they will eventually change into dandelion puffs, which may be equipped. Pressing A with a puff equipped will cause the character to blow the seeds away, destroying the item in the process. Dandelion
puffs will also die on their own without wilting the day prior.
Jacob's Ladder
Jacob's Ladder is a flower that will ONLY grow when your town is in 'Perfect' status. Everyday that your town is 'Perfect', a Jacob's Ladder might grow.
Rafflesia
Rafflesia appear when the town has been neglected for too long or time traveling has occurred. They have appeared in all Animal Crossing
games to date. In City Folk, a Rafflesia appears in the Town Museum. Rafflesia can be rid of by weeding the town. They do appear in your town but in City Folk it is an unusually long amount of time. Flies can be caught near them.

Carnations
Carnations are not sold by Nook, but received on special holidays. They come in red, white, and pink.
On Mother's Day, your mother will send you a bag of pink carnations.
On Father's Day, your dad will send you a bag of red carnations.
White carnations are only obtained by cross-breeding pink and red carnations.
Hybrids
Hybrids are flowers that grow when you crossbreed flowers - done by placing two flowers next to each other. The color of the flowers determines the color of the hybrid. If you place flowers on the edge of a tier a flower can grow on the next tier. When you crossbreed, it is possible to get one of the starting flowers you are crossbreeding. Example: crossbreeding two red roses may get you either a black or a
red rose.
When a hybrid flower is successfully bred, it appears in a spot directly adjacent to one of the parent flowers(either to the side or at an angle). So as you are planting parent flowers to try to create a hybrid, make sure you keep the surrounding spaces empty. This will give the hybrid a spot to grow in. If you plant the parent flowers next to a tree, sign, building, or another flower(or other non-growing spot), it reduces the number of spots for the hybrid to appear, thus reducing the chance of growing a hybrid.

NOTE: Hybrid colors don't always produce hybrid-colored children. They may also produce their normal predecessors when they
germinate, as shown in the picture below.
Roses as their predecessors.
Gold Roses
Gold roses are made from watering wilted black roses with a golden watering can. In Animal Crossing WW, gold roses did not breed.
However in this game, they do breed.
So far the information gathered is:
gold + gold = yellow
gold + yellow = pink (red possibly)
gold + pink = orange
gold + purple = white (red possibly)
gold + blue = red
gold + red = pink
The information gathered most likely shows that more than one different colored child produces from the above combinations.
Please contribute to this research by (if you have gold roses) testing a few of these combinations.
(Pictures will be uploaded shortly)
If the child color is not in parenthesis, then it is for certain that it produces from the combination.
Flowers that are bred/found in your town can also be sold to Nook.
